A musical triumph for the QueensmereObservatory
The QueensmereObservatory was filled with the sound of music last weekend when two amazing acts came to perform in both centres. On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th May visitors to the Observatory were entertained by family trio Miccoli, twin brothers Adriano and Alessandro and younger sister Francesca performed the music they write and create themselves to visitors and passersby. Last year the brother's were diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson White (WPW) syndrome and released the track 'Angels & Demons' in February 2010 with all proceeds going to British Heart Foundation. They are currently touring in an attempt to raise awareness of this heart condition. Miccoli were so well received last weekend that they plan to return to the QueensmereObservatory in the summer! You can find out more about Miccoli at www.miccoli.co.uk.

Then on Sunday 9th May the Queensmere was filled with the sound of dance music, when students from the West Wing Arts Group brought a sneak preview of their new show 'Just DANCE' to the centre. Visitors were able to watch performances by some of Slough's most talented dancers. The show 'Just DANCE' is a dance variety show where the audience decide who wins! West Wing Arts Group aims to show young people in a positive light, working with the community and promoting inclusion as well as highlighting a healthy and active lifestyle. A charity donation will be made to Shooting Stars Children's Hospice from ticket sales to the show which are just £3. The show takes place on Friday 28th May, 7pm at West Wing Arts Centre. The dancers will be returning to the centre on Tuesday 18th May, when they will be giving free dance lessons to youngsters as part of the Toddler Tuesday activities between 11.00am and 12.30pm. Visitors will also be treated to a dance performance at the end of the lesson!
