Harry Potter mania set to sweep QueensmereObservatory
The magic and excitement of the world famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is set to sweep through Slough’s QueensmereObservatory this month (July) as the ever mounting Harry Potter mania hits town.
The world’s most famous orphan will be joined by Hagrid, the Care of Magical Creatures teacher, and that most revered magician of all, Professor Albus Dumbledore.
Visitors to the centre could be caught off guard when confronted by the huge lumbering but genial presence of Hagrid as he sets up class among startled shoppers, especially as he is likely to be joined by Dumbledore.
Harry Potter fans will be delighted when The Boy arrives and is asked to present his homework to the Professor as a series of amazing magical acts unfold.
It is strongly rumoured that Hagrid may be permitted by Dumbledore to perform magic in front of Muggles - non-magic folk. If this does happened it would be the first time ever in the history of Hogwarts School!
Two 30-minute shows will be packed with exciting magical tricks in the true tradition of the world famous school. But eagle-eyed Harry Potter fans among the amazed audiences may spot that the magical trio are not who they claim to be.
In fact, they are the official look-a-likes from the Harry Potter Magic Show and bear an uncanny resembles to the real characters.
They have been specially booked by the centre management to perform their magic at QueensmereObservatory on Saturday 28 July.
The event coincides with a national celebration of this months release of the movie ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ and the publication of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’.
The look-a-likes’ first show will take place at 11am at Queensmere and the second at 3pm at the Observatory. A high point of their visit will be a walkabout of the two centres at 1pm when they will sign autographs and have photographs taken with Muggles – and especially little Muggles from the audience. Kevin Smith, the Centre’s Marketing Director, urged Mums and Dads to bring their little “Muggles” along to the QueensmereObservatory and join in the fun and magic. Kevin added: “Harry Potter mania is sweeping the country, if not the whole universe, and we wanted to make sure that Slough didn’t miss out. “They have an amazing bag of magical tricks that will keep their young fans on the edge of their seats. They are the next best thing to the characters you see on the Big Screen.” Entrance to the magic shows will be on a first come first served basis with those who have bought ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ from Waterstones, Slough or bought cinema tickets for ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ from Empire Cinema, Slough being able to reserve seats with proof of purchase.
