Snappy Christmas Extravaganza A Great Success
Over 1,700 shoppers took advantage of QueensmereObservatory’s free Snappy Christmas Extravaganza on 13, 14 and 15 December.
Shoppers were able to bring the magic of Christmas to life by dressing up as fun Christmas characters such as Santa’s helpers, fairies, reindeers or snowmen and having their photo taken against a festive background of their choice.
Customers were able to take away a personalised Christmas card or a desktop calendar and download their photos from a bespoke website.
570 photos were taken, with an average of three people appearing in each picture. 34% of these were emailed around the world with shoppers’ Christmas wishes. Computers were available at the centre for shoppers to use. 279 friends and family in Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK and the USA were emailed.
Kevin Smith, Marketing Director at QueensmereObservatory, said: “Our Snappy Christmas Extravaganza was a great success and enabled us to give something back to the local community by helping shoppers send their seasonal wishes to friends and family.”
With over 10,000 Poles now making Slough their home, QueensmereObservatory was keen to make them feel included in the event and enable them to send a seasonal wish back home. Polish strap lines were available, along with other languages, for shoppers to add to their cards as a wish. Among the seasonal treats handed out were Oplatek wafers, symbolic Polish Christmas food. Of the friends emailed 4% had Polish email domains.
Over 600 shoppers entered the competition to win £400 worth of vouchers, £200 from Debenhams and £200 from H&M. The lucky winner was Ophelia Janocha, 25 from Slough.
